2014 in review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2014 annual report for this blog.

Here's an excerpt:

A San Francisco cable car holds 60 people. This blog was viewed about 1,500 times in 2014. If it were a cable car, it would take about 25 trips to carry that many people.

Recess @MHS: a choreographed piece – An MG response

Based on this post from Tania Sheko at Melbourne High Library I had a go at using Hyperlapse myself. Here are the resulting videos.

Second attempt

Melbourne High School Library

We’re pretty busy at recess – as well as before school and during lunchtime. I used Instagram’s new app, Hyperlapse, to film a section of the library during recess. This was hand held – for 21 minutes.

Keep it tame!

Safer Internet Day is celebrated worldwide on Tuesday 5th February this year.   It’s a day for all of us to focus on the need to use the Internet with care and consideration.

Respect each other online

“You can use phones, tablets and computers to do awesome stuff. But things can turn nasty if you use them to disrespect each other. Treat each other with respect and Keep It Tame.”

Join a National Year of Reading Twitter Chat

Want to see – and enjoy – the value of Twitter!? Come dip your toes – or wings – in and give it a go!

Join a live Twitter discussion for National Year of Reading. Set to start at 8.00pm on April 24th 2012 using Twitter Chat, the theme for April’s discussion will be ‘Feel’ – one of the petals on the National Year of Reading which you can see on the official logo below. Participants are asked to use #NYR12 (so that everyone can see the comments shared) as you discuss reading that reminds you of tactile things or reading that makes you feel.

Not sure how use Twitter Chat? Follow these three easy steps!!

1. Go to http://tweetchat.com/

2. Select the ‘sign in’ tab at top right of the page

3. Enter #NYR12 in the search bar and enjoy the conversation!

Never used Twitter but would like to give it a go? Ask one of the Library Staff to give you a hand. See you there!
