Inky 2011 Judge: Jack Styles

We are thrilled and delighted that Year 9 student, Jack Styles, has been selected as a judge for the 2011 Inky Awards.

The Inky Awards, the only teenage literature awards in Australia which are voted upon by teenagers themselves, truly reflect the literature that teenagers want to read.  The winning books, selected by a group of judges, are then voted on by online readers of the Australian Centre for Youth Literature blog ‘insideadog.com.au’.

This is the first time that a Mentone Grammar student has been selected to be a judge for these awards.   Jack, a passionate and committed reader of a wide variety of literature for young adults, has been an active member of the Mentone Grammar Book Club since its inception.  His love of reading and of literature are evident from his enthusiastic comments upon books.  When advised by the selection panel of his successful selection as a 2011 Inky Judge, it was pleasing that they noted:

We were impressed with your expression of interest and believe that you will be  a welcomed addition to the panel we have selected.

We congratulate Jack and are sure that he will not only enjoy the role of being a judge, but will gain invaluable experience from the process.
